So. This, years after you wrote it, might just have put a tear in my eye. Subtle and at the same time emotional, you made the small things (the sight of Ennis on his horse, that last touch of Ennis' knee against Jack's) resonate so powerfully because of their finite nature. That these two had to make a meal out of the meagre portions dished out to them was, for me, one of the things about this fandom that breaks my heart every time.

And you wrote these cowboys like real men and not gushing feminised authorial stand-ins, which automatically makes me your fangirl for life :)))
